The remaining structures of living and working spaces has been very interesting. Most of these homestead remnants are from 1915 to 1939. One is 80% intact with iron bed frames and cabinets still in place. Some of these homestead remnants have below grade areas that were ice vaults where winter harvested ice from the river was kept through the summer and sold. Note the still present 18” thick mud roof.
