It is time- time for another great adventure on the heels of my epic 5 month walk from Georgia to Maine. It is time to step out again.

I am going to leave San Diego, CA on November 20, 2020 and ride my bike to on of my favorite places, New Smyrna Beach, FL. A trek of 3,000 miles. Again, like the run up to my Appalachian Trail (AT) thru hike, this trip is something that I have dreamt about for decades and it is time to bring it to fruition.

A huge motivator to make this happen now was the recent loss of my best friend and constant companion of ten years, Murphy. Murphy was so many things, not to just me, but also to so many others. His innate ability to understand a situation and discern the feelings of people around him was absolutely remarkable and is what made him a truly unique, one-of-a-kind dog. His empathetic ways always amazed me even through his last days.

His departure has left a huge hole in my soul. He was a true hero who always made a positive impact on everyone he met!

So, again, as with the AT, this trek will be a fundraiser for the Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida (GRRMF) in honor of Murphy. The Murph-Man tribute ride! GRRMF is a fabulous, all volunteer organization that does invaluable work providing medical help, foster homes and whatever other needs may arise to provide a healthy and loving future for these fantastic dogs.

Please, please join me in honoring Murphy and his efforts to help those in need, as well as the scores of dogs that will have a healthy future with a loving family- WITH YOUR HELP! And again, bringing happiness to both ends of the leash! Check out my website thegoldenwalker.com to donate!

Stay tuned for more updates soon!! Frank Carter
